Get Branded: An Inside Look at Our Creative Process for Logo Design

Whether you’re starting a new business or looking to rebrand an existing one, working with a skilled graphic designer can create a brand identity that is not only visually appealing, but also effective in conveying who you are to potential customers.

It all starts with a conversation! We want to hear the story behind your business – the hows, whys, and what problems you solve. After initial research, we go back to the drawing board… literally!

Step 1: Sketch

The first step in our creative process is sketching — brainstorming and creating rough drafts of design concepts that will eventually become the final product. Sketching (whether using pencil & paper or an iPad) is an essential step because it allows us to explore different ideas and experiment with various elements.

Step 2: Digitize

Once we have a solid set of sketches, we like to create digital versions. This is where we refine the concepts, incorporating typography, color palettes, and sometimes additional elements.

As we’re doing this, it’s in this stage that we begin to make decisions about the overall look and feel of the brand identity.

Step 3: Refine

The final step in our process before submitting proofs is refinement. We polish the concepts, fine-tuning design elements and ensuring everything works together harmoniously. This might involve making small tweaks to the typography, adjusting the color palette, or editing the layout.

What next?

When a logo is approved, we deliver print and digital formats in color and black and white and help you utilize them in a range of materials which might include business cards, letterheads, brochures — even tradeshow booth design!
